Ngarralinyi (The Listening Place) is an Indigenous Community Radio Station located in Taree. It exists to facilitate the need for an independent voice in a region with a high indigenous population. Ngarralinyi strives to provide an essential service by way of radio broadcasting to the local area. The station carries information relating to current and past community issues. The station partners with other agencies such as ... Radio station Ngarralinyi publicly promotes reconciliation and endeavors to educate the indigenous community and the non-indigenous community it surrounds, in an attempt to lessen the gap of knowledge, awareness and history. Ngarralinyi strives to provide workplace opportunities to youth, the unemployed and the unskilled. Mid North Coast Indigenous Broadcasting association Corporation (MIBAAC) was incorporated on 2nd August 1999 and Ngarralinyi was established in 2000, with it's first licence to broadcast granted November 1999. Prior to this a Koori program was broadcast through 2BOB FM, a community based radio station also located in Taree.
