About the station
The station took over all folk music, brass music, and amateur music programs from the digital radio station Bayern plus, which now positions itself as a pure Schlager program. Similarly, in 2016, all folk and brass music programs on Bayern 1 were discontinued and moved to BR Heimat. Some programs are broadcast as repeats or simultaneously with Bayern 2. Additionally, daily magazines with contributions about Bavarian folk culture are aired.BR Heimat broadcasts news, weather, and traffic updates at the top of every hour.At the end of the daily program, after the news at 12:00 AM, the multi-stanza Bavarian anthem is played.
