About the station
Radio Schleswig-Holstein launched its program on July 1, 1986, and is considered the first nationwide private radio station with a 24-hour full program. RPR1 had already started operations on April 30, 1986, but shared its frequency with three other programs (LR Linksrheinischer Rundfunk, PRO Radio 4, and Radio 85). Very quickly, R.SH became a pure AC-format radio station with many typical characteristics of this format.
