In 1999, a small radio station emerged in Germany. This station broadcast three days a week, 45 minutes per day. On February 11, 2005, the station took a step towards expansion. It connected listeners through direct phone calls to engage with the radio. However, this effort was initially undertaken in collaboration with another radio station. The station's radio broadcast began as a trial on September 6, 2006. On September 11, 2006, it reached listeners under the name European Tamil Radio with 24-hour radio programming. During this special event, Member of Parliament from the Tamil National Federation, Ilaventhan, personally visited the ETR (ERR) studio and inaugurated the programs. This was the first 24-hour Tamil radio service launched in Germany. The ERR radio station, which broadcasts programs through artificial intelligence, reaches Tamil people worldwide via the internet and is the first Tamil radio available on mobile phones.
