Bayern 2 offers current reporting (politics, culture, economy, science), reports from Bavaria and around the world, radio plays and features, as well as cabaret (radioSpitzen), commentaries, and consumer-oriented programs. The music on Bayern 2 spans a range from soul to chanson to singer-songwriters from around the world. Various special programs feature classical jazz, world music, and independent music. A special musical focus is now on 'Heimatsound' from Bavaria and the Alpine region. A dedicated program is created daily between 5 AM and 2 AM. During the remaining time, the ARD-Nachtkonzert is broadcast.
