SWR4 is the name of two independent regional radio programs of Südwestrundfunk: SWR4 Baden-Württemberg and SWR4 Rheinland-Pfalz. SWR4, as a music format, primarily plays modern German-language Schlager and Schlager oldies. Additionally, international evergreens, instrumental and folk music, as well as classical music on Sundays, can be heard. In 2004, the share of German-language songs was 86 percent. SWR4 places a focus on reporting from Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg. At certain times, regional programs are broadcast. Furthermore, dialect radio plays, service, and advisory programs are a fixed part of SWR4.
